Wow, what a month January turned out to be!

Probably the best part was that Property Secrets investors braved the uncertain financial environment with such confidence by investing wisely through the Property Secrets strategy.

It’s easy to see why - interest rates have dropped to an all-time low and with rents going through the roof, all properties are either positive cashflow or positively geared in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart.

Due to the reduction of lenders from 47 to approximately 15, the banks again have the majority of market share. This is not a good thing, as with less competition comes reduced customer service and slower approval times. An recent example is a 21 day approval turn-around time for one major bank.

To add to this, the majority of mortgage insurers clamped down on their policies, making loan approvals slightly more difficult.

The Christmas and New Year break proved to be excellent buying. While novice investors took a break over this period, Stewart Fraser and his team went to work making offers and securing great deals for Property Secrets investors.

The buyer’s agent division has noticed that some vendors are now holding off selling their properties as interest rate reductions, along with rental increases, have taken away the mortgage stress.
